From cradle, we are confined to a world of guidance and counselling. Our parents, tutors, elders and role models alike all had something to talk to us about. We were guided as to what and what not to do, when and when not to do those, where and where not to do, and even how and how not to. Do not touch that, wear that, take that that, and so on. We were the dump yard of instructions, rules and regulations. However, all these were borne from good intent. The most loving of hearts tried have our best at heart, yet we turned out this way; different.
In adolescence, we began a resistance: protesting for our liberty to be responsible for what, when, where and how we did whatever. Many of us prevailed over our guardians. It was a fuss all the time, and finally they gave up.
You know what, I'm done talking to you and you don't listen to me. There's the key to your life, take it and just drive. You will bear the consequences from now on.
Yeah right! Many have regretted the choices they made after that. Most actually dared living with it, finding sympathizers to their weirdness.
In adulthood, with senescence in view, we notice how we have driven miles off the road, into the woods. How we have had a rough ride, bumped into trees, been faced with wild beasts attacks. Some times we got stuck in the mud, had to walk miles. So many threats and happenstances we have been challenged with in this woods.
No one veered us into this mess. Even if you had it different with those who guided you, it was your choice. Those who had gone ahead of us tried to aid our navigation, but we insisted on our adventure. I hope we learnt the lessons? though some never do. It is not too late to go back to the high way. It is called the way of righteousness. It is so named because it is the right thing to do, the right way to go, and the right life to live.
That life you have lived so far, has it been good to your soul and your relationship with those who really care about you? even God? it shows how far you have derailed.
You might ask: who determines the right things to do? who determines the right way? who determines the right life to live?
No one should take away your choices away from you. free world huh? right! Then, you determine what is right. You sure did, since adolescence. How is it going so far? have you been on the right track ending up this way?
It is your life? No it is not. Not when it hurts others. Don't just drive off, Try letting someone wiser guide you this time.
BE GUIDED! BE LED!
